Massive anticipation surrounds South superstar Yash’s upcoming action-thriller, Toxic, ahead of its theatrical debut. Advance bookings for the film have met with an overwhelming response, triggering a rush among fans to reserve their seats as soon as sales opened. Within just a few hours, the movie surpassed 2.72 lakh ticket sales, bringing its pre-release collection close to Rs 19.66 crore (including blocked seats).
Kannada and Hindi Belts Drive Major Demand
According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the film has amassed an estimated Rs 11.92 crore gross in India from its Day 1 advance sales alone. The Kannada version leads the pack in Yash’s home territory with Rs 7.72 crore, while the Hindi dub follows with a strong Rs 3.90 crore. The remaining revenue comes from the Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam versions.

Granted an ‘Adults Only’ Certification
The film has also drawn widespread attention for its intense and dark themes. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in India has issued Toxic an ‘A’ (Adults Only) certificate. Meanwhile, the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) assigned it an 18 rating in the UK, citing depictions of violence, drug use, and strong adult content.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic stars Yash alongside Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, and Rukmini Vasanth. The film is scheduled to hit cinemas worldwide on August 26.
