Kannada cinema star Yash is set to make a major global splash with his highly anticipated action thriller Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups. Prime Media Studios has acquired the North American distribution rights for the film and released its first official English-language trailer. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the project is scheduled for a coordinated worldwide theatrical release on August 26.
Simultaneous English and Kannada Shoot
A major highlight of the film is that key sequences were shot simultaneously in both English and Kannada. The newly launched trailer offers a glimpse into a dark narrative centered on power, betrayal, and crime set in Goa during the final years of Portuguese colonial rule.
Yash’s Dual Role and Ensembles
In ‘Toxic’, the K.G.F star plays a complex, high-stakes double role as ‘Raya’ and ‘Ticket’, two underworld figures navigating power through strategic violence and manipulation.
The action-thriller features a star-studded ensemble cast including Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth, and Huma Qureshi in prominent supporting roles that bring competing motivations and shifting loyalties to the story.
John Wick Stunt Director Elevates Action
To give the film an international edge, Hollywood stunt coordinator J.J. Perry – known for his work on major franchises like John Wick and Fast & Furious—orchestrated the action sequences, blending Indian cinema with global filmmaking standards.
Direction and Pan-World Release
The film is directed and co-written by National Award-winning director Geetu Mohandas, with Yash co-writing and co-producing alongside Venkat K. Narayana under KVN Productions and Yash’s own banner, Monster Mind Creations.
‘Toxic’ will be released globally across multiple languages, including Kannada, Hindi, English, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam, with North American theaters offering screenings in both English and Kannada alongside dubbed versions.
